We've launched our Distil Film course for 2009. This came out of a Distil Extra session with Jim Sutherland in 2008. It was very popular and participants wanted to take this further.
The course consists of 8 lessons with Jim Sutherland where 10 musicians get the opportunity from scratch to learn the processes of writing music for film. The end of the course sees the musicians write and record music to a short film and have it shown in the Robert Burns Film Theatre as part of the Scots Trad Music Awards weekend on the 28th November. Many thanks to Scottish Screen Archive for the donation of the films.
